With the increasing popularity of Thermal optics it was only a matter of time before STS Targets offered Thermal Reactive Targets to Australian Shooters!!
STS Thermal Reactive Targets are manufactured from a thick thermoplastic material which when shot, result in heat signatures caused by the projectile passing through the material. These heat signatures are detectable by thermal optics allowing shooters to spot their impacts without having to go down range.
These are completely passive targets, no heat pads, ice cubes, boiling water or electrical power required.
Disclaimer: Performance of STS Thermal Reactive targets is dependant on the performance (sensitivity and resolution) of the thermal optic in use. As these targets work by creating visible hot spots, the ambient temperature also has an effect. You may well struggle to spot impacts on hot summer days. The colder the conditions the better they work.
Note: STS is endeavouring to produce a library of images illustrating the performance with various brand thermal optics however this will take some time to build.
